Glion Institute of Higher Education Offers Exclusive UK Scholarship Programme and EU Scholarship Competition
Glion Institute of Higher Education, one of the world’s top three institutions of higher education for an international career in hospitality management, has launched an exclusive UK scholarship programme open to UK passport-holders only, as well as a wider Hospitality Scholarship Competition open to all prospective EU students. Both programmes are open to applicants enrolling to commence studies for the January 2014 intake.
UK Scholarship Programme
Available as a supplement to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the UK scholarship will present students with the opportunity to receive a 25 per cent reduction in tuition fees across all semesters of the student’s degree programme. With the recent opening of Glion London, the scholarship aims to encourage enrolments from students in the UK.
"This scholarship aims to encourage applications from British students wishing to study hospitality management in aUK university campus-based environment, whilst still receiving the Swiss hospitality education ethos”, says Liza Humphrey, Campus Director, Glion London. "We are delighted to have a campus based in the UK and we hope to receive many applications from British students wishing to form part of our international student body, which is currently made up of around 20 different nationalities.”
Hospitality Scholarship Competition
The hospitality scholarship competition present students with the opportunity to receive up to a 40 per cent reduction in tuition fees across all semesters of their degree programme. Availablefor both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, there are nine scholarships available in total.

To apply for the UK scholarship programme or hospitality scholarship competition, prospective pupils are invited to submit a creative two-minute video application, demonstrating their suitability for the scholarship, outlining what they could bring to the global hospitality industry and indicating why London-based study would be particularly helpful to their career. Applications close on 15 November 2013, with students shortlisted for a panel interview with the school’s directives.
The addition of Glion London, which opened August 2013, illustrates the worldwide growing demand for hospitality professionals across the world. The UK’s hospitality sector is stronger than that of any other large Western European economy and driven by London’s unremitting expansion it accounts for 8 per cent of total UK employment.
Glion works closely with the hospitality and tourism industries to prepare students to meet their current needs.More than 80 per cent of Glion graduates are employed or received multiple job offers upon graduation.
Every semester, Glion students continue to attract great interest from the industry and on average, students in their last semester of study have 3.5 interviews with key recruiters from international companies. Over 50 representatives from the hospitality industry, including highly reputed brands such as Mandarin Oriental, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, InterContinental, Four Seasons, Marriott and Hyatt, visit Glion to recruit from its graduating class.
The new London campus extends the reach of Glion’s Swiss hospitality education programmes to students and industry leaders in the UK. Initially offering a Bachelor of Business Administrationin Hospitality Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality Administration, Glion London is located on the campus of the University of Roehampton in South West London, providing students with access to the facilities and resources of a large university community.
Glion London students are also part of a real-time global classroom, connecting students-to-students and students-to-faculty at all Glion campuses; fostering true international educational collaboration.
