the retail motor industry as a desirable career option, The Institute
of the Motor Industry (IMI) has launched an online information website
to help young people, adults and careers practitioners find out about
the hundreds of jobs available within the sector.
Autocity brings to life the diverse roles available within the industry by using video case studies of real people in real jobs. Visitors to the site can also find out about qualifications, salary guidelines, job descriptions and lots more.
Research*
has indicated that the automotive retail sector will need 120,000 more
people over the next decade. One of the key objectives of the IMI as
the industry’s Sector Skills Council and professional association is to

businesses which the user can explore. It is anticipated that the site
will become an information, advice and guidance tool for all careers
advisors in schools and careers offices. They will be supported by a
special section of the website specifically designed for their
exclusive use.
